Things like server stability issues and the online account are annoying, but not necessarily a deal breaker. This is a niche video game based on a niche board game, and it needed as few roadblocks as possible to attract new players and keep them interested. Why is this still a thing? Sure, many big games can get away with this, but we’re talking about Blood Bowl here. I have a big problem with the fact that Cyanide Studios is asking players (once again) to create a third-party account in order to play online. If you want to take full advantage of everything the game has to offer (which isn’t a lot), you’ll need to play online even if you don’t care about competitive matches.Īnd you know what that means? Things have improved since then thanks to a couple of patches, but server problems persist and there’s still no guarantee that you will be able to successfully log into the game on your first try. Until very recently, it wasn’t uncommon to get stuck at the login screen and have to wait ages for it to load or be forced to restart the game several times until it finally let you reach the main menu.
